The word Rudraksha comes from Sanskrit, combining Rudra (a name for the Hindu god Shiva) and Aksha (meaning "eye" or "tears"). It translates to "tears of Lord Shiva." According to legend, Shiva shed tears of compassion for humanity, and where those tears fell to the earth, the Rudraksha tree grew.
AUM (often spelled OM) has two primary meanings depending on the context: spiritually, it is a sacred primal sound in Eastern religions
Raksha Bandhan (The Bond of Protection) is a popular and traditionally Hindu annual rite or ceremony that is central to a festival of the same name celebrated in the Indian Subcontinent. It is also celebrated in other parts of the world significantly influenced by Hindu culture. On this day, sisters of all ages tie a talisman or amulet called the rakhi around the wrists of their brothers. They symbolically protect them, receive a gift in return, and traditionally invest the brothers with a share of the responsibility of their potential care.
